3 - Saint Joseph

In this window we see Saint Joseph and Pope Pius IX, who was singularly devoted to St. Joseph, who in December, 1870 solemnly declared the Holy Patriarch Joseph, patron of the Catholic Church, which is why there is a church depicted in this window.

St. Joseph -  Earthly spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Foster and adoptive father of Jesus Christ.  Descendant of the house of David.  Layman, Carpenter, Visionary who was visited by angels.  Noted for his willingness to immediately get up and do what God told him.  Joseph is the patron of the dying, universal church, fathers, carpenters, and social justice.

Saint Joseph Feast Day is March 19 and May 1.
